Here are some of the crocus from my parent's front garden. There were also pretty white, yellow, and paler lavender ones but my camera battery chose that moment to die on me so I was unable to take more pictures.
I successfully defended my dissertation proposal yesterday. A big thank you to those of you who were aware that was happening and were praying for me.

WOO HOO!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! THAT'S AWSOME!!!
Beautiful. Purple is my favourite colour ..
Autumn here,L, as you know.
You'd love our 38 degrees celsius day today... not!!!
Congrats on the defense. What a relief, eh?
38 celsius? As in over 100 deg F?
Thanks Ame :)
Kathy,
Thanks, purple is my favorite color too (at least this year, last year it was green). I think I'd melt in 38 degrees celsius!
EW,
Thanks. It is a relief...until I think of the next hurdle in the process!
ActuallY EW, just checked the morning paper and I was wrong about yesterday's temperature.
The mercury hit 39.8c !(phew.)
Yes folks, that's 103.64 F.
The good news is, it's only going to be about 32 c today.. That's about 90 F.
Guess that means you won't be planning a trip to sunny old Perth, anytime soon L.? chuckles..
Kathy,
Um, no. I don't tolerate that kind of heat well. How cold does it get in the winter?
You'd probably enjoy winter here L.
It's quite moderate.
Average maximum temperatures 18-21C
(64-70 F)
Whilst average minimums range from 7-10 C (44-50 F)
We can have sunny blue skies some winter days.It doesn't rain enough though. We are always well below maximum storage levels in our dams.
In the North of our vast state we have more water "than you can poke a stick at"
Unfortunately to channel the water(via a canal) down to Perth would involve huge costs.(1600 miles from Kimberely region to Perth) Environmental factors are also another consideration.
A low of 44 and I high of 70 sounds about perfect to me!
