Actually, I think I'm the only male in the U. S. who is almost completely indifferent to American football. (I was more of a baseball fan pre-teen, and played outfielder). The Ravens have been good to Baltimore, and vs. Versa, I'll admit. In my nursing units we have rabid fans among the womenfolk for one football team or the other; which is even more opaque to my reasoning than rabid adult male fans. Interestingly as a teenager my High School sport was cross country - long distance running (though I never distinguished myself in this), which perhaps was more in tune with my solitary nature.
I didn't have a chance growing up in the Pittsburgh area, especially during the first 4 SuperBowls. My whole family are big fans. Being a Steeler fan is in my blood. I watched one of the AFC title games during the 90s with aunts, uncles, cousins etc. in my grandfather's hospital room with a terrible towel draped across his chest when he was in a coma and dying after being taken off of the ventilator. The last time the Steelers were in a Superbowl I sprained my achilles tendon jumping up and down during an exciting play.
Congratulations on the Steelers Victory. It was a fantastic game, wasn't it? I have converted from a non-football fan to a Steelers fan and I am not even from Pennsylvania.

And here I thought you were a nice girl.
LOL :)
(don't tell me you're a Ravens fan!)

I have a friend who I'm certain is thrilled by this news.
I'm currently obliged to be an NY Giants fan.
I don't pay close enough attention to Football to have an opinion on any other team just yet, so I'll stick with the hubby's alignment.
I'm gettin there, though :) I understand false starts, "10 and 2nd", and how things work in-game with interceptions and incompletes :)
Gettin me some ejukashun!
Christina,
A wise move to allign yourself with your husband's team, and my condolences on the Giant's loss.
One brief edit to your football ejukashun: 2nd and 10, as in second down and 10 yards to go :)

Thanks Emily! :)
