Now SXM, How am I going to be an evil genius in a secret lair if you magnify the picture! LOL ;) Yes, it is a C.S. Lewis book and is titled something like "A Year with C.S.Lewis". It contains daily, page-long exerpts from his books like The Screwtape Letters, Mere Christianity, and The Problem with Pain etc. It is a nice refreshing break for me to read it. I love his writings because they really challenge my thinking. I've read and love the Chronicles of Narnia too and have read the Space Trilogy though I found that set of books a bit strange.
By leaning to my left I was able to pick up my copy of "Readings for the year," which may be the same thing under a slightly different title; but honestly it's been awhile. Today, August 10ths, is about the benefits of a "fixed form of service" -- a month or so ago I went out with an Anglican; I wish I had read this then as it would have been fodder for good discussion.
Pilgrim's Regress can be a bit "out there" as well but on reflection you will find that, like with the Space Trilogy, it is really about the implications of having ideas that are either bad or wrong.
The book is at least 4 years old I think. I'm going to be away for a few days but when I get back to the office I'll check the August 10 reading and see if it's the same one. I have wanted to read Pilgrin's Regress. I read the space trilogy more than 10 years ago so I may not find it as strange now.
this is why you're a prof and i'm a sahm ... i know when my kids have body-things that need attention, but to study the ligaments, etc, is not a part of what i need to know ;)
i'm SO impressed ... and if i didn't know you, i'd feel intimidated :)

Under magnification, it can be seen that the book is by C. S. Lewis; but the title cannot be made out.

SXM,
Nope, not the same book. My August 10 reading is from Mere Christianity and is about the relationship between love and the promise of commitment.

Ame, Well, then I'm glad you know me because the last thing I'd want is to intimidate you :)
